The CLA is one of those cars I find very ugly, but also very well made. It’s not a common combination. The proportions are just off, like a Yaris or Fiesta sedan. Needs more hatch/wagon.

I think it would look better as a liftback like older saabs and some audis (the a7 i think as well as some a5's in other markets). The gigantic C pillar makes the back doors look droopy.

This is the only reference I’ve ever seen outside Mercedes PR to the CLA being “well made.” That said, I’ve never been in one myself!

uh, have you driven one? They are cheap inside and driving one feels cheap. It doesn’t deserve the Benz badge at all.

I like the A-Class’/CLA interior better than that of the BMW 1 Series, which was my driver’s ed car btw. The Audi A3 still has the best interior in its class though imo.

imo I think the cla doesn’t look that bad, but it’s not very well made according to what I’ve heard in many reviews. the CLA is a cheaper Mercedes, made to be under the 30,000 mark. to be able to accomplish that, Mercedes had to cut some corners to get there

There’s.... a CLA ... AMG?? WTF.

That said, I had a CLA 250 as a rental car and it was one of the best rental cars I’ve had. Bar is pretty low there, but still. It was pretty nice to drive and the interior felt cheap. My wife was in the car for about 3 seconds before commenting on the cheapness of the inside. All I know is, it pulled a boat off a floating lift with the tow eye.

I meant it more in terms of "it looks well thought out," not necessarily build quality. When you see it, you can imagine it costing $30k. That said, I still think it's fugly and it sounds like most reviews think it's almost a repeat of the old C Coupe, which was cost-cutting at its finest.
